Tour Guides Australia’s nationally recognised course is led by industry professionals who both train and work as professional tour guides and are Accredited Professional Guide members of Tour Guides Australia.

The course has been endorsed by Austrade in the THRIVE 2030, the national visitor economy strategy, as a key pillar in building a sustainable tour guide workforce. We have worked with state and territory governments, Indigenous corporations, and both public and private tourism venues.

The course has been conducted from Arnhem Land to Hobart and we bring our expert trainers to wherever you are.

We also take a brief from you and adapt our course content to your specific needs and are flexible in how and for how long we deliver the course, from two to three days.

Additional insights and current real-world experiences from accredited tour guides working in a diverse range of settings across Australia are embedded in the course and shared with participants.

Participants can expect to gain basic knowledge, skills and understandings across six themes that Tour Guides Australia recognises as minimum industry standards for entry-level professional tour guides.

This course is designed to get your team ready to start your career as a tour guide and is the recognised pathway to becoming an Accredited Professional Guide and member of Tour Guides Australia.
